I was born the son of a truck driver.  Although my parents divorced early in my life and lived in separate states, I still maintained contact with both parents throughout their lives.  We moved a lot and I never was able to develop strong friendships.  I was always the “new kid” at school, and spent most of my life being very shy.

I started beating on garbage cans at the age of two, and went on to learn how to play drums in grade school, which continued throughout all my school years.

It was in high school that I discovered the stage and a way to break out of some of my “shyness” by being another character.  After my first drama class in high school, I was in love with the idea of acting and I played a principle character in every high school production. Immediately after high school, I enlisted in the Navy.  I served my time and that separated me from anything to do with “entertainment”.

After my time in the military, I auditioned for some local theater projects.  It was difficult to face the rejection of not being cast in a role and it felt like I could never get into this tight knit group of people so,  I returned to my first love, playing drums.  I played drums in a number of bands from the early 80’s through the 2000’s all while working full time and trying to raise a family.

After too many years in snow and cold winters, I relocated to Florida.  When my job “went away”, the idea was to take a little time off to do something, fun.   That was my first short film audition.   Memories of high school stage days and the thrill and excitement of acting flooded all over me again.  Since being cast in a role in that short film, I have not stopped.

Now, I am a full time non-union actor in Florida. I am on time, professional, dedicated, hard working and believe my job is to give the Director exactly what he or she wants to capture. I have a deep resonating voice that is great for voice over also. I am comfortable with serious drama or outrageous comedy, and everything in between.

In summary, I am paying my dues, learning as much as I can, and living my dream.  I am not waiting for “that big break” to happen or for fame and fortune.  I am finally living a life of true serenity and happiness, doing what I now believe I was destined to do and will continue to do as long as I am physically and mentally able.  If fame and fortune do come with it, then that is just icing on the cake.  I will survive and I will live my dream.

Thanks for visiting my site and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all.

Peace and love,

Rich
